AI echo measurements, waiting in Studycast
Studycast sends echo studies to Us2.ai's FDA-cleared software and receives the measurements and full report back into the same study. Sonographers send images to the PACS as they always have.
AI analysis inside the Studycast workflow
In June 2023 Core Sound Imaging and Us2.ai signed an integration agreement that added Us2.ai to the Studycast Integration Program. Studycast clients can route selected echo studies to Us2.ai, which produces a full echo report, and bring the analysis into their own Studycast worksheets and reports.
Studycast is Core Sound Imaging's system for image storage, viewing, interpretation and structured reporting. With Us2.ai running inside it, the analysis arrives in the same study list, viewer and worksheet the team already uses, so there is no second application to open.
Send to the PACS as usual. The measurements come back.
When echo images arrive in Studycast for storage, viewing and reporting, Studycast sends them to Us2.ai and the analysis runs in the background. By the time the sonographer has finished the study, cleaned up and sat down to report, the results are back in Studycast.
What the sonographer sees
An AI Results column in the Studycast study list shows when Us2.ai has finished and sent back its measurements. The images return with the measurements overlaid, including strain images for practices that do not have dedicated strain software.
What changes in the report
The full Us2.ai report is attached to the Studycast study, and one click pulls the measurements into the worksheet. Each AI-generated measurement carries an identifier, so the reader knows where it came from. Nothing is locked: a clinician can remeasure any structure in Studycast and overwrite the AI value.

That is actually what made Us2.ai such an effective tool – it integrates seamlessly with Studycast. The images go from our ultrasound system to StudyCast. StudyCast sends it to Us2.ai. Us2.ai does the processing, measures all of the measurements that it can, measures strain at a high rate, and then sends that information back to StudyCast and populates all those measurements. That whole process takes roughly two minutes. It is very quick. As an (echo) tech, we really don't have to do anything different. We send the images to our PACS system like we always would. This time, when we pull it up, the echo measurements are there waiting for us.
