AI echo results, native in Merge Cardio

Us2.ai's FDA-cleared AI algorithms integrate with Merge Cardio's imaging and reporting systems to deliver AI-generated analysis directly inside the workflow that reading cardiologists already use.

AI inside the system clinicians already use

The partnership integrates Us2.ai's FDA-cleared algorithms with Merge Cardio's advanced imaging systems to deliver AI-generated analysis and reporting of echocardiograms. For clinicians, this means:

  • Save time with automated measurements and reports
  • Improve accuracy through consistent, guideline-based analysis
  • Focus on patients, not on clicking through measurements

Merge by Merative is trusted by 6 of the 10 largest US health systems and built on a cloud-native foundation, with a portfolio that spans Vendor-Neutral Archive, PACS, Workflow Orchestration, Cardiology and Hemodynamics, and Digital Pathology. Embedding Us2.ai inside that footprint means a hospital does not need a separate login, console, or workstation to get AI-analyzed studies.

Like CarPlay for echo

Speaking on the Cardiac Wire Show, Us2.ai's Seth Koeppel described the experience as the CarPlay model for AI: the analysis runs in the background; users do not log into another system. The sonographer scans, Us2.ai processes the images, and the results appear natively inside Merge as part of the existing workflow.

What changes for the sonographer

With AI running in the background, sonographers no longer need to make measurements manually. They focus entirely on image quality during the scan. By the time they have finished the study, wiped down the patient and probe, and seen the patient out, Us2.ai has already processed the images and populated the results in Merge. The technician then sits at a workstation with a proper monitor and good ergonomics to review the AI results, instead of hunching over the cart console: a much safer and healthier setup for echo techs.

What changes for the reading cardiologist

Reading cardiologists stay in Merge. AI-generated measurements and reports are pulled into the existing reading worklist, alongside the original study. No extra clicks, no second application, no additional credentials. The flagship Christ Hospital Network deployment is an early example of this in production.

Us2.ai's capabilities align with Merge's mission to empower clinicians with smart and intuitive solutions. Through this partnership, we're proud to continue paving the way for more consistent, precise, and efficient diagnostic workflows in cardiology.

Ashish Sant, Executive Vice President and General Manager of Merge

Together with Merge, Us2.ai is focused on providing solutions clinicians can use to deliver great patient care. This partnership reflects the growing healthcare trend of incorporating innovative technologies to drive measurable improvements in patient outcomes and physician experience.
