Cardiac amyloidosis has long been one of cardiology's most underdiagnosed conditions. Echo findings can be subtle, and by the time a diagnosis is made, the treatment window has often already narrowed. With the emergence of ATTR-targeted therapies, early and accurate detection has never carried more clinical weight.

Us2.ai recently joined Studycast and preventive cardiologist Dr. Neel R. Patel (MD, FACC) of Central Florida Heart Care for an on-demand webinar on using echocardiography and AI to catch cardiac amyloidosis earlier.

What the session covers:

  • Recognizing key echo indicators of amyloid, including myocardial speckling, wall thickening, and abnormal longitudinal strain patterns
  • How Us2.ai's AI can identify amyloidosis before it's visible to the naked eye
  • Correlating echo findings with clinical history to build a case for further workup
  • A live demonstration of how Us2.ai integrates directly with Studycast

How Us2.ai fits into your workflow:

One of the highlights of the session is a live demonstration of how Us2.ai works within Studycast, showing just how little disruption there is to an existing workflow. When echo images come into Studycast for storage, viewing, and reporting, Us2.ai runs its analysis automatically in the background. The benchmark is two minutes, meaning by the time the sonographer finishes the study, cleans up, and sits down at their workstation to begin reporting, the AI has already done the heavy lifting.

Within Studycast, an AI Results column signals when Us2.ai has completed its analysis and sent back all measurements. Images are returned with measurements overlaid, including strain images for practices that don't have dedicated strain software.

The full Us2.ai report is attached directly within the Studycast study, and measurements can be pulled into the worksheet with a single click. Each AI-generated measurement is clearly flagged with an identifier so sonographers always know the source. Crucially, nothing is locked. If a clinician wants to remeasure any structure, they can do so directly in Studycast and simply overwrite the AI value.

As Brenda Kazee from Studycast states: "It's very efficient. I love this AI because I trust it so much."
