Us2.ai co-founder Yoran Hummel attended "Smarter, Faster, Better: How AI is Reshaping the Echocardiography Workflow" at San Luca Hospital in Milan, a one-day course fully dedicated to artificial intelligence and echocardiography. Alongside a presentation on Us2.ai's capabilities, Yoran led a two-hour hands-on workshop giving clinicians, scientists and technology developers the opportunity to experience the platform directly.

The course, directed by Luigi Badano, Denisa Muraru and Marco Penso, reflected a field in active transition. Discussions throughout the day centred not on whether AI works in echocardiography, but on how to implement it responsibly, equitably and effectively in routine clinical practice.

Several themes emerged as central to the conversation:

  • The role of AI in reducing interobserver variability, improving reproducibility and supporting less experienced operators was widely recognised as an area of significant clinical value
  • There was also broad agreement that the future of AI in echocardiography lies in end-to-end workflow support, extending beyond automated measurements to encompass image acquisition, quality control, structured reporting and disease detection
  • Vendor agnosticism and interoperability were highlighted as essential requirements, with future solutions expected to integrate echocardiographic analysis with multimodal imaging, clinical data and outcomes information

Us2.ai was grateful to participate in this focused educational event and to engage directly with the clinical community in Milan. Events like this serve as an important reminder of the value of bringing technology directly into clinical hands. Us2.ai remains committed to working closely with the clinical community as AI-assisted echocardiography continues to evolve from a promising technology into an established part of routine cardiac care!
