Heart failure screening at home and in primary care
Sep 19, 2024
Heart failure is the number one cause of hospitalization in people over 65 and projected to rise 50% across the next 25 years. The 5 year mortality rate for patients with HF is 43%. HF diagnosis is often missed in primary care. Point-of-care testing using AI echo and NT-proBNP could democratize HF screening beyond hospital settings to non-specialists.
SYMPHONY is a multinational, prospective, randomized study in the USA, Canada, Denmark, Scotland and Sweden to investigate a screening strategy of point-of-care AI Echo and NT-proBNP in primary practice and general community settings.
